Jess Kelly
Radio and TV Broadcaster

Jess Kelly is a Radio and TV Broadcaster. She is Newstalk’s Technology Correspondent, hosts Tech Talk on Saturday evenings at 5pm and also joins Pat Kenny every Tuesday on The Pat Kenny Show. Jess also regularly contributes to Newstalk Breakfast and The Hard Shoulder with Kieran Cuddihy also on Newstalk.

As Technology Correspondent on a busy national radio station, Kelly takes a hands-on look at all the latest gadgets and devices on the market and explains what you need to know. Having worked at Newstalk for the past ten years, Jess’ role has seen her travel across the globe reporting from some of the biggest conferences in the world including; CES in Las Vegas, IFA in Berlin, Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and Samsung Unpacked in New York City. Before moving into the role of Technology Correspondent, she worked in production across many of the station’s shows including The Tom Dunne Show, Moncrieff and The Pat Kenny Show. Jess also imparts her technology expertise to television audiences on The Six O’Clock Show on Virgin Media One.

Jess regularly contributes to The Sunday Business Post and has also seen her work published in The Irish Examiner, Tatler and on Independent.ie to name but a few.

Jess is an experienced MC and in 2018 she hosted the main stage at the Dublin Tech Summit. Across the two days of the mega conference, Jess conducted interviews with high-profile guests such as YouTube mega-star Casey Nesitat and former secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff. Jess also returned to host the Main Stage of the 2019 Dublin Tech Summit. Additionally, she has hosted events for the likes of WeWork, Brain for Business at the Science Gallery, Career Zoo, Limerick Chamber and for The Department of Rural and Community Development. Jess is a supporter of the ISPCC.

In 2019, Jess Kelly was awarded the Irish Tatler Woman of the Year Media Award. Jess was recognised for this award as even the most complex of technology topics are made insightful and jargon-free thanks to her skilled expertise.

Jess has a BA in Gaeilge and Geography from University College Dublin.

Declan Power
Independent security and defence analyst, published author, former soldier

Declan Power is an independent security and defence analyst, published author and former soldier. In addition to offering training on crisis/risk management and analytical techniques, he is delivers the Terrorism and International Security Studies course at City Colleges Dublin, a course he devised for a wide variety of security practitioners. He is also an Adjunct Teaching Fellow in Conflict, Security and Development at Trinity College Dublin. Prior to this Declan worked abroad extensively with the European Commission on projects involving counter-terrorism and violent extremism. In recent years he led on a successful joint Irish-Swiss government funded project to manage conflict and crisis in South Sudan. He was also a panellist on the 2015 White Paper on Defence. When not deployed, Declan provides analysis to both broadcast and print media on security and defence matters.
