City Information
The Galmont Hotel is just a five-minute walk from Ceannt Railway Station, with regular services running to and from Dublin Heuston and Limerick City. The Citylink bus station is just around the corner from the venue, with multiple routes operating to various parts of the country.
Galway is a very walkable city, with main city-centre streets such as Quay Street and Shop Street being fully pedestrianised. Public transport is limited within the city, but as locals would say, everything you need is within a ‘10 minute’ walk!
Regular Bus Eireann buses operate to suburban areas from the Eyre Square area. The 401-bus route goes to Salthill, a picturesque seaside suburb overlooking Galway Bay. This area is very popular with both residents and tourists.
You will receive detailed information in the Know Before You Go document prior to the conference, but in the meantime, we recommend any of the travel apps below to aid you in arriving at the Galmont Hotel.
TFI Go: The TFI Go App allows you to buy tickets for participating Transport for Ireland bus services and some commercial bus operators.
Free Now App: The Free Now App allows you to order a taxi from your location or to book one in advance, or for a later time. Cash and Card are both accepted.
Uber: The Uber app allows you to order a car ride from your location, or to book one in advance. You can pay by cash or card. All Uber drivers are licensed.
Irish Rail: The Irish Rail App informs you when the next Train is due. The Train operates national services throughout Ireland.
The weather in Galway is unpredictable. The average temperatures for February range from 3°C to 9°C. Being on the West Coast of Ireland, rainy conditions can always be expected. Ensure to pack some additional layers and waterproofs.
Onsite
When you arrive at the conference venue, please make your way to the registration desk to print your name badge. You will need your QR code to print your badge, so please have your registration confirmation email open and ready to scan!
